Many collectors of Star Wars memorabilia and toys will have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of The Force Awakens to not only see what is in store for fans in the next chapter of the saga but to also see what characters and action figures might be available to collect. We have to remember, however, that there are going to be kids coming to Episode 7 with minimal experience of Star Wars releases and the important backstories and that is where an old fan favorite like Chewbacca comes in.
Most geeks have their fair share of Chewie toys but the Black Series 6 inch Force Awakens Chewbacca is a new model from Star Wars 7 that instantly appeals to new fans. This is their wookie and the quality of the articulated figure means that they can play with him to great effect to carry out battles and missions. This figure also has two important accessories, the satchel bag and the bowcaster, to fuel the imagination further. It is a great companion for the upcoming film but also a great way for older fans to get their kids better acquainted with the earlier films and key characters. Some critics have questioned whether this model is really all that different but the additional benefit here is the attention to detail that has gone into making the figure unique; it is a replica from Star War 7, not just another wookie model, and this means it is still an important addition for avid collectors.
