Enhance a Star Wars Fleet with the Iconic LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer
The main selling point of this model for fans of the Star Wars franchise has to be the large-scale build of this menacing ship. Builders can take their time to create this iconic shape out of the different bricks and great elements, as there are 1359 pieces in total. The finished build looks like it has come straight out of the movies and it is primed for battle against all that oppose the Imperial forces. The pointed, aerodynamic shape of this spacecraft is designed for high speed attacks and there is a carry handle on the model to help players re-enact scenes and create their own battles against other models in their collection. In addition to this, there are 8 cannons mounted on the exterior of the ship, which can be controlled via the rear handles, and the spring-loaded shooters add to the available firepower.
There is more to this iconic Star Wars LEGO ship than just a building kit. Rally the troops and command attacks from the bridge.
All of this weaponry and armored construction is great for protecting the Empire against attack, but it also needs a strong crew to take command, plan strategies and hone in on the enemy. There is a great range of mini figures released with this set and while some may have only been “exclusive” when this set was first released, the rarity of this discontinued building set means that many of these elements are still highly desirable. Naturally, Darth Vader is there to command the two Stormtroopers, Imperial Crew Member, Imperial Officer and Imperial Navy Trooper. In addition to this, there a Mouse Droid figure to enhance the storylines and an Emperor Palpatine Hologram than can appear on-board and give guidance to Vader if the battle isn’t going so well. The crew are experienced enough to control this powerful vessel but they are also armed with blasters and rifles in case they need to land.
This range of characters means that there is an even greater opportunity for creative play than just flying the finished model around the room and setting off the cannons, and this is enhanced further through the detailed interior of the ship. The top of the model lifts off and the sides fold down to reveal rooms and features that take players deeper into the heart of Imperial command. The ship has 7 engines, all of which need to be maintained, and the bridge contains blue screens, control panels and rotating chairs.
This LEGO Star Wars 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer should offer everything fans need to fight back against the Jedis and showcase the might of the Empire.
There is clearly a lot more to this building kit that then chance to build a great replica of an iconic ship. With this LEGO Imperial set, fans can get a closer look at a key vessel from the original series and understand more about the villains that spawned the First Order. With this ship at a player’s disposal, alongside some of the more recent models, the Resistance won’t stand a chance.
