Start Your Rogue One LEGO Star Wars Collection With The K-2SO 75120 Set
One of the great things about Rogue One is that it goes back to life before the original trilogy – before we ever met Luke, Leia and Han. This means that there is a whole host of new characters to bring to life and new adventures to enjoy. This means lots of new Star Wars LEGO sets are sure to be on the way, with lots of new mini-figures characters. One of the more intriguing of these new characters is K-2SO (Kay-Tuesso).
Who is K-2SO and why should fans be excited by the new LEGO Star Wars K-2SO 75120 Set?
On face value, this large droid is quite an intimidating figure with all that battle-worn black armor. We also can’t fail to notice the imperial insignia on the left arm. He immediately looks as though he should be one of the bad guys. However, he is actually on the side of the Alliance having been reprogrammed. He is expected to be the comedy sidekick that delivers one-liners while dealing with his transition from Imperial to Rebel causes. It is unknown how this story of a new allegiance fits into the new film, as we don’t know whether or nor he is good or bad from the start. Of course the beauty of play sets and LEGO kits is that players can make up stories as they go along.
In this new 2016 Rogue One LEGO set, players can create this curious looking droid on a large scale with plenty of detailed parts. It measures in at 29cm tall – classed as “extra-tall” by LEGO – so will tower over the enemy, just as it should. All of the complex joint and shapes come together to create a pretty good replica while providing a challenge for builders. The additional benefit here is that this model is poseable with moving elements, which increases the opportunities for creative play. There is a single and double arm swinging function. The only warning here from those that have handled the model ahead of release is that the spindly legs aren’t as stable as they could be in all positions.
Kay-Tuesso is precisely the sort of droid that you want on your side when fighting the Imperial troops.
There is still a sense of mystery around this new Star Wars droid, but there is no doubt that he will become a popular, collectable character once Rogue One is released. This LEGO Star Wars K-2SO is a great place to start.
