When the designers of Star Wars 7 toys were thinking about the possibilities to entice a new generation of kids, LEGO was an obvious direction to take – as was the choice to make a LEGO Force Awakens X-Wing. The X-Wing Fighter is a pretty iconic craft from Star Wars mythology and fans of the series will be please to see that there is another version to add to their collections with this Poe’s X-Wing LEGO set.

The beauty of LEGO sets is that there are two very different directions to take with their construction, the choice to build it, enjoy the finely replicated details and leave it on display or to build it and play with it. The detail in the 4x14x12 inch kit and the use of the retracting landing gear and seat for a mini-figure mean that this 2015 Star Wars Lego model, from The Force Awakens will look great parked up next to previous versions on the shelf but kids can also let their imaginations run wild. They are invited to “play out exciting snow-planet battles”, which gives a glimpse into the use of this fighter in the new film, and there are plenty of moving parts and accessories included to enhance the adventure. These include the springloaded shooters, access ladder and mini action figures of Poe Dameron himself, a resistance pilot and a BB-8 Astromech droid. We may not know much about the adventures that Dameron will take part in, or about the man himself for that matter, but kids can have fun guessing with this extensive set.
