The name Obi-Wan Kenobi means slightly different things to different generations; to the older fans he is the old Jedi that helps our heroes in the first adventures and is Princess Leia’s only hope and to the young fans he is the much younger version fighting against the separatists in the prequels. The modelling of the LEGO Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi 75109 kit is clearly aimed at the younger ones as there is a strong resemblance to Ewan McGregor in the face and facial hair but there is also an odd mix of styles between Revenge of the Sith and the Clone Wars. The shapes within the molding of this buildable figure have a cartoon-like quality to them that actually suits the LEGO style much better than some of the more realistic characters and this is enhanced further with the use of the white Clone armor.
Whichever scene players choose to place this models in during their imaginative play, they can be sure of a model that fits into their fight scenes with ease and will receive a lot of compliments from other players. The costume and detailing on the figure is a great start because of the quality of those posable limbs and the fabric cape but the star feature for many will be the blue light saber that is also there to be built from scratch rather than a pre-made accessory. The arms and hands are flexible enough for many offensive poses with this weapon and he also carries a spare sabre handle. The final figure, which promises to be completely durable in the hands of rougher players, stands at 9 inches tall and is ready for action against the enemy and to fight by the side of our heroes, whichever versions of them players choose to play with.
