The problem with being an Avenger and all-American hero like Captain America is that there is always somebody that wants to try and take you down. In the new 2017 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Captain America Jet Pursuit 76076 Building set it is the turn of Super Adaptoid. This may not be one of the more well-known villains in the Marvel universe right now, but he is a whole new foe for Cap to try and defeat and he doesn’t seem to want to go down without a fight. Thankfully, Captain America’s pilot training hasn’t been forgotten and he has an ally to call upon.
The Super Adaptoid will be tricky to take down but this top Marvel team is up to the job.
Captain America has a lot of problems here. Not only does this tough new foe have wings that enable him to fly away, he also has a new LEGO fighting feature and has stolen Cap’s trusty shield. Cap is now without his best weapon and has to avoid the “power blasts” from Super Adaptoid’s fists. These blasts are a new feature for 2017 that add a new dynamic to the gameplay. Without his shield, Captain America needs to rely on the weapons of his jet and his own flying skills. The jet has a trigger at the back that switches the plane into attack mode, dual disc shooters and a cockpit. Cap is dressed for the occasion with his pilot outfit and goggles on over his costume. Just in case he isn’t able to shoot down this villain alone, Ms. Marvel is on hand to help out with her long flexible arms and large hands. Between them they should be able to shoot him down, tie him up and retrieve the shield. The range of features and attributes here means that the scene can be played out in a number of ways before kids ever get bored.
This LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Captain America Jet Pursuit 76076 set may be a bit of fun, but it is also a great new set for keen collectors.
Any set with an aerial chase and battle is always going to be a hit with LEGO Captain America collectors. However, this Marvel set goes further with the new characters, the alternative design of the Cap minifigure and the introduction of the power blasts. It is definitely an important addition for many fans and a sign of some great things to come.
