Sleeping Beauty is one of the classic Disney Princesses and while the original film may be pretty old by now, there are generations of Disney fans that have grown up with the story. This is one of the more simplistic Disney sets out there – focusing on a room to set the scene rather than a bigger play set – but it is a must-have item for keen collectors.

The bedroom contains everything that this Disney princess needs to complete the story and for players to enjoy a range of creative storylines. The most important elements here are the big, buildable bed, where Sleepy Beauty can lie in wait for the Prince to break the spell, and that all-important enchanted spinning wheel, where she pricks her finger and falls into that deep sleep. This is ideal for those that want to follow the story of the fairy-tale, but there are other elements here too. Those that don’t want their princess to be continually comatose can enjoy the additional elements of the highly decorative window, which looks out over the kingdom, and the dressing table. Here Sleeping Beauty can do her hair, put on her tiara and perfume and make herself pretty for the day’s tasks.
The other interesting factor with this set is the choice of mini-figures. Naturally, there is the princess herself, with her blonde hair and pretty pink dress. However, there is also her pet rabbit, complete with strawberries and carrots to eat. How this rabbit works its way into the stories is entirely up to the player. There is no reason why this pet can’t play an important part in lifting the spell itself. There is a magic wand hidden in the room that it could use to its advantage.

The LEGO Disney Princess Sleeping Beauty’s Royal Bedroom 41060 Set has been discontinued by LEGO, as there are many new princesses and films to create in LEGO form. Yet, there is still plenty of charm to this kit. The simplicity of the build and the well-known story mean that it is a great add-on kit for any young LEGO Disney fan that wants to expand their collection.
