Summer 2016 sees the arrival of another of LEGO’s 3-in-1 building kits, and this one couldn’t be better suited to the time of year. The LEGO Creator Lighthouse Point 31051 Set is the ideal addition to any summer beach scene and shows a minifigure couple enjoying their holidays. The beauty of LEGO 3-in-1 sets is that they give users the chance to create three different models from one set of bricks.

In the case of this Lighthouse model, kids can continually transform their seaside scene to suit the scenario they are playing that afternoon. There is the lighthouse, which can keep an eye out over the shore and any ships that kids are playing with, the house and pier or the boathouse.

The main build out of the three is the lighthouse with lighthouse keeper’s cottage because this brings many of the elements together for an exciting build. The lighthouse is the most striking element because of the size, the use of classic bands of red and white and the functional light brick. The cottage folds out to showcase the two blue exterior views and the interior. This offers different scenes for different stories and the chance to add more details like the fire, the balcony and the table and chair. This cottage can then be reconfigured into a house with a pier where the two included mini-figures can enjoy a weekend break by the water. The pair can enjoy the rocks, flowers and beach elements as they laze on the beach or by the fire and there is a dock beside the house where they can moor up their boat.
