Lego Adidas Originals Superstar Set 10282

There are lots of people that have impressive sneaker collections with boxes upon boxes of classic designs and different colours. Then there are those that have similarly large and diverse collections of LEGO sets. Well, now LEGO has created something for those that sit neatly in the middle of that little Venn diagram. The new LEGO Adidas Originals Superstar Set 10282 gives builders the chance to create a brick version of the classic Adidas Superstar shoe.

This set is more clever than you might expect and leads to a cool LEGO set with interesting elements.

The uppers of this shoe look to be surprisingly ergonomic. Obviously, this would never be comfortable to wear because of the hard plastic and lack of any sort of cushioned insole. But, there is a nice curve o the upper, the cap around the toe, and the shape of the sole. The majority of the bricks for this part of the shoe are white. But, there are the trademark three black stripes down the sides that make it clear who designed this model. The branding on the tongue is a bit of a giveaway too. There is also the name of the model printed n the side and some black details around the back of the ankle.

What is surprising about this model is the amount of detail that has gone into the construction and the elements not seen straight away. For example, builders have the choice of making this for a left or right foot. After building the upper and putting in the tongue, there is then the lace-up part of the shoe with eyelets. Then there is the colour and design on both the insole and the underside of the outsole. This makes the model as authentic as possible and encourages other people to pick it up and take a closer look. The set is finished off with a little display stand to raise it up at the heel.

This a fun example of LEGOs for adults that takes builders somewhere completely different.

Although there may only be 731 pieces in this set, it is still rated for ages 18+ because of the theme and the complexity. It will take some careful work to adapt the shape of the sole and get everything assembled in the right order. The finished design of this LEGO Adidas Originals Superstar Set 10282 is definitely worth the effort.
