This LEGO Expert Harley-Davidson model brings together create mechanics and design
There is no doubt that this motorcycle looks the part, with its iconic design and the attention to detail in the brickwork. This isn’t like some of the blocky motorbikes you can get in cheaper sets. The designers have made sure that every element in as precise as possible with specially moulded parts and branding. The dark red of the paintwork looks great against all the “metal” and the black seat. This red is an unusual colour and is enhanced further by the printed emblems. The display stand means that you can set this up in a collection so that it always looks at its best.
Of course, it isn’t enough for a 16+ Creator model to look the part. There also has to be a sense that this could perform like a Harley-Davidson. The engine in the set is modelled on the Milwaukee-Eight engine and can be brought to life by spinning the rear tyre. Other moving parts include the gear shift pedal and the handlebar for steering. It wouldn’t take much to take this on a test drive around an office desk. Other crucial features in the kit include the tyres, the kickstand and the speedometer.
There is a lot to think about when building this detailed replica
This is a complicated set for a complicated machine. A smaller kit for younger builders would allow for this amount of careful detail and mechanical precision. A younger audience might not appreciate the Harley-Davidson name either. There are 1023 pieces in total to allow creators to build this beast of a bike from the basics of the engine right to the finishing touches. Give the Harley Davidson Fat Boy 10269 the same love and care as a real Harley and you won’t be disappointed.
