There are always going to be debates over who was the best Batman. Alongside that should be similar arguments over who had the best Batmobile. As we start to realize just how many Gen-Z teens there are only really familiar with the Nolan trilogy, we have to turn our attention back to a classic from 1989. If you are of a certain age, this is definitely the coolest of all the Batmobile models. Now, it is also one of the most difficult vehicles in the LEGO universe thanks to the 1989 Batmobile DC Superheroes Lego Set 76139.

This advanced build from the Batman movie brings the car to live in all its glory.
The design is a precise replica of the gothic-style car from the movie with all the right curves, that matte black finish to the brickwork and the fun little bat wings out the back. Some younger families may look at this vehicle and think that it is a little understated for a superheroes car. There are two responses to this. 1) This was incredibly impressive in the 80s. 2) You haven’t seen inside it yet.
The finer details of the interior and the moving parts are what makes this complex LEGO 16+ set so challenging and interesting for builders. One of the stand-out features here is the wraparound windshield that looks perfect on the slide-open cockpit. Once inside, you will find two seats and all the right controls for the gadgets located on the car. Batman can deploy the grappling hooks or pop-up machine guns while Vicki Vale rides beside him. Both are included as minifigures, as is The Joker. They are true to the costume design of the original Batman movie and have key accessories and weapons with them.
This is one of the largest sets for Batman vehicle LEGO for adults an also the hardest challenge for die-hard fans.
This is an over 1000 piece LEGO set – 3306 pieces to be precise – with an additional rotating display stand to show it all off when you are done. This could end up being one of the toughest challenges yet for LEGO Batman fans because it is such a detailed, precise model with such a grown-up design. But this retro classic must be rediscovered and appreciated. You can do so when the 1989 Batmobile DC Superheroes Lego Set 76139 becomes available to buy on November 29th, 2019.
