The Whitehouse is one of the most iconic buildings in the whole of the United States. The President of the USA needs a grand residence in which to live, work and meet other leaders from across the world. So, if you want to add a LEGO version of this building to your architecture collection, you need a set that will do it justice. Straight away, it is important to note that this is an 18+ LEGO set for adults. What this means is that you get a more difficult build with a lot of bricks and attention to detail. There is also the fact that there aren’t the typical “fun” features that you would fun in a Creator set or something for younger builders. This means that there is no minifigure president to sit in the oval office or wander through the garden. This might be just as well if you don’t get your preferred candidate in office after the November election. The main focus here on this large LEGO set is obviously the architecture of the building itself.
Like many of the best LEGO models, this one is modular so you can assemble it in three sections to break the project down into sections. You get the main building with the executive residence, the east wing, and the west wing. Each section comes together with precise detail from the windows to the columns and you get a big impressive building at the end. There are over 1000 bricks in this set and the final model reaches 47cm long. So, you need to make sure you have plenty of room in your collection to show it off.
Finally, we can’t forget about the gardens and little details that finish this advanced set off. The building would look a little strange sat on its own. So, the designers have added in the rose garden and other elements of landscaping to add a little realism. You can “plant” all the bushes and flowers around the building to add that sense of grandeur and give the set more colour and visual appeal. Then, when everything is in place on the White House LEGO Set 21054, you can hoist the stars and stripes up the flagpole.
